Bill 121

Amending the 2024 Fire Department budget to provide for a supplemental

appropriation of Forty-One Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Two Dollars and

Fifty-Seven Cents ($41,242.57) from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,

Department of Community and Economic Development grant. These funds

will be utilized to support the Bomb Squad and ensure disposal of

fireworks.

Mr. Ed Zucal stated ok, Chief.

Chief Efrain Agosto stated thank you Councilman Zucal. These are monies

that are being disbursed throughout the state for Fire Departments for

fireworks disposal. This is actually dating back from when they changed

the laws, but they also added about a 12 percent tax on top of the

purchases so the money that are being gathered and being used to assist

fire departments throughout the state with disposable products.

Mr. Ed Zucal asked what kind of equipment. He just has a curiosity.

Chief Efrain Agosto stated that right now, they basically they have the

equipment available to them. They are actually able to gather whatever is

being confiscated, taken into a bunker and then disposed of. The process

is in place for them. They have the availability to do that. That is what it

kinds of comes back to assist with some of the funding to be able to

maintain the trailer and afford them with the opportunity to do this.

Mr. Ed Zucal asked if there were any questions from his committee

members. He asked if there were any questions from the dais. He asked if

there were any questions from the public.

A motion was made by Cynthia Mota, seconded by Ed Zucal, that this Bill be

forwarded to the full Council.
