Procedures for filling council vacancy:
Pursuant to the Charter and Council rules, Allentown City Council will accept applications to fill the vacancy through the close of the business day on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. The applications should be addressed to City Council and can be emailed or delivered to the Deputy Clerk at Tawanna.Whitehead@allentownpa.gov. Applications should consist of a resume and statement stating the reasons you will bring value to the City as a councilperson. The applications will be public documents. If you have any questions, please call Council Office at 610-437-7555.
Tentatively, depending on everyone’s schedule, City Council will schedule interviews and decide the week of December 19th. The Charter requirements and council rules on the procedure and process are attached..
